Institutional research and Logo

Institutional Research
These are three film institutional logos.
This logo gives impact due to the fact the emblem foreshadows a super hero badge and this has connotations of power and superiority. This stands out physically with the bold design and with the two colour scheme of primary colours; yellow and blue. In my own design I would like to emulate the simplistic and bold connotations that this logo design has, in order for it to draw attention to audiences.

This is a mystical style logo which creates a fantasy feeling. The image is artistic and unique and stands out and gives impact because of the different style (compared to bold and simple logos).

The word universal is connecting to the image which is a space picture of planet earth in the universe. This is another powerful image because the logo title is very bold and the image of the planet is very empowering due to the light beam all around it. In my own logo design I would like to follow this by including an image that is relevant to the title of my institution.

My Logo Idea
For my logo for my institution I wanted something that reflected my film genre but something that could be generalised to other film genres, therefore not limiting my institution to one type of film genre. I wanted something memorable and catchy therefore an alliteration would be effective. The word poison and the image of the skull and crossbones nicely correspond to each other therefore giving an effective, unique, yet, simple institution logo.

Simpsons Trailer

This Simpsons Short Trailer I created with a action mood in mind. This helped me practice my editing skills for when I make my own film teaser trailer.

  • Add Trailer

Short Film

This is a short film directed and shot by me and my group. This helped us to experiment with shot types and how to film scenes effectively. It also gave us the chance to edit and put together the film to create a story.

Shot Types and Practice Filming

EWS - Extreme Wide Shot (Establishing Shot)
I will use this is my own teaser trailer for outside to establish the setting of the garden.

Over the Shoulder Shot
I will use this shot when two of my actresses are talking to each other. This will then show a clear conversation between the two.

WS - Wide Shot

Two Shot

POV - Point of view shot

High angle
I will use this shot in my trailer to show the vulnerability of my character.

Low angle
I will use this shot in my own trailer to show the MIME's face. This angle shows superiority and danger.
CU - Close Up
I will use this shot in my trailer to give a clear message to the audience what my character is feeling. This expression will be scared or anxious.

ECU - Extreme Close Up

MCU - Medium Close up

MS - Medium Shot

All these screen shots are taken from the woman in black film.

Mood board

These are a mixture of my initial ideas.

I like the way the main image is surrounded by blackness as if the creature or monster is lurking or has emerged from the dark. I would like to try and incorporate this in my film poster.

I like the way there are a strong pair of eyes on the front cover, which draws in the audience. I will use emphasis on the eyes in my film poster. I also like the hand covering the mouth which links to the title of the film and suggests a kidnapping of some kind.
